I created this pendant for a lovely client as a going away present for her friend. The symbol has significance to them both.
I love making special keepsakes for nice people!
We have a little person, and we fell in love with this bird in a painting he made.
For a surprise, I created a pair of cufflinks with the bird on them.
Everyone was very pleased! I feel lucky to be able to draw inspiration from such a masterpiece!
I’m very excited to tell you that I have been invited to stock some of my work in the lovely shop at KickArts Contemporary Arts in Cairns, here in Queensland.
A little bit about the fabulous galleries and shop from the KickArts website:
“Located in the central business district of Cairns, in the Centre of Contemporary Arts, KickArts is a key destination for local and tourist visitors alike who wish to experience the vibrant contemporary visual culture of Tropical North Queensland. KickArts is dedicated to facilitating, presenting and promoting contemporary arts and extending the experience and cultural life of northern Australians and more than 2.2 million annual visitors to Cairns.
Delivering a dynamic and diverse exhibition program, KickArts welcomes more than 45,000 visitors annually. The KickArts Shop animates the Centre on a daily basis and is a focal point for viewing unique, high quality works of art, craft and design from Australian and international artists.”
The gorgeous staff at KickArts have chosen my Spirals and my Ceramics collections to showcase in the shop. If you are in the beautiful Cairns, lucky you! Make sure to stop in at the Centre of Contemporary Arts at 96 Abbott Street.
I caught up with a dear friend of mine recently after many years. It was so lovely to see him! Isn’t is great how you can have a lifelong connection with some people, and share laughs and stories as if it were only yesterday that you had seen one another? We talked about what we’d been up to, of course, and he was interested in my silversmithing. A while later he commissioned me to make him a ring.
I love the simple yet so effective design!
Thanks, my dear Max, for getting me to create for you. It was a pleasure!
The pink quartz gemstone cabochon shown here is 36mm long, and is available to be handcrafted into a custom piece for you.
The amazing eclipse bumblebee agate gemstone cabochon shown here is 41mm long. It is available to be handcrafted into a custom made ring or pendant for you.
My lovely client Natasha commissioned me to create this mookaite ring for her partner.
She chose the cabochon from my gemstone collection. Doesn’t the mookaite look great with a reticulated silver shank!
It’s always a pleasure to create with like-minded people. I’m so lucky!
This gothic cross was commissioned for a friend of a friend, as a replacement for an existing costume piece.
The oxidisation gives it a worn feel, and enhances the detail. I like the look!
The amazing eclipse bumblebee agate gemstone cabochons shown here are 25mm long. They are available to be handcrafted into a custom made ring or pendant for you.
The amazing pinolite gemstone cabochons shown here are 18mm long. They are available to be handcrafted into a custom made piece for you.
Pinolite is a graphite-pigmented dolomite with inclusions of white magnesite grains which look like pine kernels (hence the name).
