I made this peridot and pentacle pendant for Jo and Chris to give to their daughter for her eighteenth birthday.
It’s fully reversible, with the peridot on one side, and the pentacle on the other. It was a fun piece to make!

My lovely client Natasha found a picture of an amazing antique ring, and got me to make her a similar style using a selection of green gemstones.
The stones are serpentine, prehnite, chrysoprase, peridot and aventurine.
It looks amazing worn on the first finger – the stones wrap around and are all visible to be admired! Thanks, as always, to Natasha for her friendship and artistic vision.

Jen, a lovely friend of mine, commissioned me to make her a ring to replace her engagement ring, which she accidentally threw out with the potato peelings 50 years ago!
This ring is set with a lovely, high domed peridot, and is designed to fit with her wedding ring.
It was a joy to create, and Jen was an absolute delight to work with. I love what I do!
My lovely client, Pauline, wanted a ring created for her daughter’s 40th birthday, with and opal and two peridots which are the birthstones of her daughter’s three children.
She asked if I could use an opal cabochon that she had. I was happy to do that!
I got in some tiny peridots, and we designed the ring together.
Pauline asked if I could make a simple silver bangle to pair with the ring. What a lovely gift!
Continuing my flashbacks to the first pieces I ever made, the next step I took at The Goldsmith’s School was to learn to set a stone. A round or oval shaped cabochon is the simplest to set (no corners to contend with!) and I chose one of my favourites, peridot.
I have written about the stone setting process previously here and here – and as you can probably tell, it is one of my favourite ways to create!
I’ve gotten faster and better at setting stones of course, but these earrings have stood the test of time – although I would design the ear hooks differently another time! I still love peridot, too – it and garnet are some of the few gemstones that are not treated in any way.
It’s always lovely to create for people you love, so when my bestie asked me to make her daughter a set of stacking rings as a sixteenth birthday present, I was stoked!
The stones come from my embarrassingly extensive gemstone collection.
If you’d like a set (or just one!) of your own, let me know – I’d love to make you some.

I used similar cabochons to create these custom pieces:
My good friend Narelle asked if I could create a pendant for her to give to a good friend of hers.
Narelle sent me some sketches of ideas she had, and we agreed on this design, which incorporates the first initial of the name of each of the members of the family.
I’m pleased with the way this one turned out, I think it’s effective – and I do love peridot! Thanks, Nez!
