The gorgeous chrysocolla gemstone cabochon shown here is 23mm long, and is available to be handcrafted into a custom made ring or pendant for you.
Like malachite, chrysocolla has a high copper content, which is what gives it that fabulous blue/green colouring. The name comes from the Greek chrysos, (gold), and kolla, (glue).
It is believed to have a calming influence, and also to attract love. It is supposed to help heal burns, fever, and detoxify the liver.
Nicole chose this gorgeous prehnite cabochon from my gemstone collection and commissioned me to create a ring for her.
I love the inclusions in this prehnite, just gorgeous!
Such a lovely piece to create, thanks Nicole! I’m looking forward to working on your next piece!
I created this pendant and earrings set in collaboration with a beautiful customer. We worked together to match the stones and come up with the design idea.
The shape of the pieces mirror the pattern in the drusy. The pieces are for a gift for Sonia’s daughter, a Taurean – the stones are both birthstones for the sign of Taurus, so very fitting!
Thanks so much, Sonia, it was such a pleasure and an honour to collaborate with you.
I’m always pleased to create custom pieces for people using gemstones from my ever-growing collection, and this was no exception!
What made this chrysocolla pendant special is that it’s for a birthday girl, from a group of her friends – and I got to meet the person who commissioned it.
Chrysocolla is one of my favourite stones at the moment – if you’d like your very own chrysocolla piece, just let me know!
A lovely customer wondered if I could resize this raw ruby ring to fit. I couldn’t, but I offered to create her another similar ring.
This lovely piece of chrysocolla was the perfect stone for it!
I’m very pleased with the way this ring turned out. Thanks, Niki!
The beautiful malachite gemstone cabochon shown here is 33mm long.
Malachite has a high copper content, which is what gives it that fabulous green colouring. It was given its name because of its resemblance to the leaves of the Mallow plant. Read more about Malachite here.
I used this cabochon to create this custom piece:
According to Wikipedia, Chrysocolla is a hydrated copper cyclosilicate mineral with the formula (Cu,Al)2H2Si2O5(OH)4·nH2O. Hehehe, such a convoluted scientific string! I guess that just means it’s a compound, which is apparent from the many wonderful blue/green colourways that can be seen in various pieces.
Chrysocolla is a minor ore of copper, and like malachite, has a high copper content, which is what gives it that fabulous blue/green colouring.
The name Chrysocolla derives from the Greek chrysos (gold) and kolla (glue), referring to its use as a flux in soldering gold. The term has been used since antiquity.
It is believed to have a calming influence, and also to attract love. It is supposed to help heal burns, fever, and detoxify the liver.
I have some lovely chrysocolla cabochons just waiting to be turned into beautiful jewellery for you – you can find them in my gemstone collection. Let me know what you’d like created!
