Margaret, a lovely woman I met at my stall at the BrisStyle indie Markets, chose this stone from my gemstone collection, and commissioned me to create a pendant for her daughter’s birthday.
I spent quite a while deciding whether to have the stone pointing up or down – I went with down as you can see! The granulation just adds a little something, I think.
Thank you so much, Margaret, and I hope that your daughter loves her new pendant!
Along with some of the lovely handmaidens of Australia that are my co-sellers on MadeIt, I recently took part in a Kris Kringle, and I was really thrilled to be the lucky recipient of this lovely journal cover, complete with notebook and pen!
What a sweet cover, with handpainted butterflies, and such a gorgeous sentiment too!
Just what I needed, as I have many plans for 2014 – and now I have a great place to keep them!
It took me quite a bit of searching before I found out who the creator of this lovely cover was – but I found her! I knew I’d seen that style somewhere before! It was Rachel from Babee and Me.
Rachel’s shop is just overflowing with divine gifts for babies and children, like this divine fish teether, or these fabulous wooden blocks.
Thank you so much, Rachel – I’m really looking forward to filling this lovely journal with plenty of dreams to follow in 2014! Happy festive season, and I hope your Kris Kringle gift was as lovely as mine. 🙂
I signed up to participate in a Secret Santa swap which is taking place on the Australian Wandarrah Etsy team I belong to. Look what arrived in the mail – this gorgeous parcel!
When I opened it, here’s what I found inside:
Yes, it really did feel like Christmas.. and even better, a nice early Christmas! And LOOK what was inside the parcel:
Oh, how lucky am I? What totally divine Christmas ornaments, and such a beautiful key fob! The handstitching is immaculate, and these gorgeous goodies are obviously made with such love and care.
Of course, when you get a Secret Santa present, it’s just second nature to want to know who it’s from – so with a little detective work, I discovered that the creator of these handcrafted delights is Nari from Nari Design Pot!
Nari’s shop is filled with divine handmade creations – as well as these lovely Christmas ornaments, she has many other treasures.
You really should check them out – I bet there’s something there for a few people on your Christmas list! You can find Nari on FaceBook, too.
Thank you SO much, Nari – you really made my day with your thoughtfulness, and your divinely made creations. I hope your Secret Santa is as good to you as you were to me!
When this hueso handcarved bone cabochon arrived at our house, I nearly kept it for myself, but my son instantly said how cool it was, and asked if he could get me to custom make a pendant for his friend, Charlotte.
The moon face is so serene!
I learned a little bit about bone and bone carving while I made it. I am always so pleased to know there are such talented people in our world!
My lovely friend and supportive customer Elizabeth had a surprise recently, when she received this ring as an anniversary present!
Her husband, knowing Elizabeth likes my work, secretly commissioned me to make it for her.
I didn’t realise who it was for until I had nearly finished making it – then I finally put two and two together. I was so pleased! Happy anniversary, guys. May you have many, many more!
My beautiful Granny turned ninety-eight recently, and I created this sterling silver twisted chain necklace for her, to match the bracelet I made for her a while ago.
With around two hundred and eighty links to be made, joined and soldered individually, it took a while to complete. I love the simplicity and the gorgeous way it rolls.
I’m planning a little blog post on the creation of it, so stay tuned for that.
Amy is visiting a couple of her dear friends in London very soon, and it will be their 30th birthdays while she is there. Amy wanted to give them something special! Together we designed a ring for each of them. A shared trip to the Andes was the inspiration for this ring:
and a love of cats is behind this one!
As quite often happens when I’m creating rings as presents, it was a challenge for Amy to find out ring sizes without anyone guessing what she was up to.. in the end she managed to get them though!
Thanks, Amy, and I hope the girls enjoy their new rings!
