My lovely client Natasha saw these charoite gemstones in my gemstone collection, and asked me to create a pair of stud earrings to match a ring I made her previously for her mum.
Small and sweet, and a little bit matching. I love them.

My gorgeous client Natasha commissioned me to make these amethyst, rose de France and aquamarine earrings as a wedding present for a friend.
Natasha always has such beautiful ideas, and chooses such lovely gemstones from my collection.
Thanks, Natasha, it is always such a pleasure to work with you!
I’m very excited to tell you that I have been invited to stock some of my work in the lovely shop at KickArts Contemporary Arts in Cairns, here in Queensland.
A little bit about the fabulous galleries and shop from the KickArts website:
“Located in the central business district of Cairns, in the Centre of Contemporary Arts, KickArts is a key destination for local and tourist visitors alike who wish to experience the vibrant contemporary visual culture of Tropical North Queensland. KickArts is dedicated to facilitating, presenting and promoting contemporary arts and extending the experience and cultural life of northern Australians and more than 2.2 million annual visitors to Cairns.

The gorgeous staff at KickArts have chosen my Spirals and my Ceramics collections to showcase in the shop. If you are in the beautiful Cairns, lucky you! Make sure to stop in at the Centre of Contemporary Arts at 96 Abbott Street.
A client asked if I could make her these very simple yet striking staple earrings.
I like to do small commissions as well as larger ones.
These earrings are a fabulous every day addition to a wardrobe!
I was so pleased when my dear friend Judy asked if I could create another matching pendant and earrings set for her to donate to the ArtSound FM Radiothon fundraiser this year. (Last year I created this set).
I drew up a few quick ideas, incorporating the ArtSound logo, and Judy chose the one she wanted. She chose kyanite cabochons from my gemstone collection, which I think looks just lovely!
Thank you, Judy, what a pleasure to create for you!
One of my lovely clients asked if I could make simple wire earrings in the shape of initials, incorporating a bead.
What a cute idea! I don’t know if I can replicate every letter of the alphabet, but ‘L’ worked out pretty well I thought.
Thanks, Lithy! (Love your bead choice, too!)
One of my dearest besties and I are both water signs (yep, another Cancerian bestie!) and I wanted to make her something special for her birthday.
Apatite is so gorgeous, such a vibrant blue with some lovely crackly inclusions, and waves – well, what can I say!
Although they can’t be worn this way, I like that they are secretly reflections of each other. Love you Soph!
A lovely client, for whom I had previously made this ring, saw these raw ruby pieces that I created and was taken with the idea of a matching set. She asked me if I could source her some special stones.
After a bit of discussion about what colourway she would like, I presented Bek with a few different options – and she fell in love instantly with these totally divine chrysoprase cabochons. So did I, so I was really pleased when she chose them!
I love this set, and it was a joy to create. Let me know if you’d like your own – I’m always happy to go on a rock shopping spree!!
Continuing my flashbacks to the first pieces I ever made, the next step I took at The Goldsmith’s School was to learn to set a stone. A round or oval shaped cabochon is the simplest to set (no corners to contend with!) and I chose one of my favourites, peridot.
I have written about the stone setting process previously here and here – and as you can probably tell, it is one of my favourite ways to create!
I’ve gotten faster and better at setting stones of course, but these earrings have stood the test of time – although I would design the ear hooks differently another time! I still love peridot, too – it and garnet are some of the few gemstones that are not treated in any way.
One of my clients asked if I could create a pair of earrings to match this raw ruby ring.
I was able to source her some matching cabochons, and here is the end result!
I think they turned out pretty well. I was fond of that ring, too, so it was nice to see it going off to a good home!
