Larimar is a variety of pectolite only found in the Dominican Republic in the Carribean. It is created by volcanic activity. It is sometimes called Dolphin Stone or Atlantis Stone.
Larimar is thought to be helpful to pregnant women or new mothers, to aid with stress or depression. It is supposed to be good for expressing the emotions, and cleansing emotional blocks.
