Peugeot Sterling Silver Lion Rampant Cuff Links

Peugeot Lion Rampant Cuff Links

I created these custom sterling silver Peugeot cufflinks for a client for her husband.

Peugeot Sterling Silver Lion Rampant Cuff Links

I sawed the lion rampant by hand with my jeweller’s saw – I cherish my tools!

Sterling Silver Condamine Bell

Condamine Bell

The Condamine Campdraft Assocation commissioned me to create a custom Condamine bell pendant for their Ladies Draft winner. These bells were traditionally made out of old worn-out sawblades and were worn by cattle. You can read a little more more about them here.

Sterling Silver Condamine Bell

Yes, it even has a clapper!

Threepenny Cuff Links

Threepenny Cuff Links

A client came to me with two old bracelets made from old threepenny bits. They ranged in date from 1897 to 1940. The bracelets had seen better days, and my client asked if I could take two of the 1917 coins off and create cuff links as a gift for her husband.

Threepenny Cuff Links

It was slightly daunting to be working with 100 year old coins, but the cuff links turned out ok!

Sterling Silver and Carnelian Locket Box

Sterling Silver and Carnelian Locket Box

As part of a bracelet I’ve been asked to put together, one of my clients wanted a special box to keep to tiny and precious booklets inside.

Sterling Silver and Carnelian Locket Box

It is set with a carnelian, one of his favourite stones.

The piece will like a charm bracelet, filled with pieces that have significance to my client – what a great way to wear all those memories at once!

Peach Moonstone and Sterling Silver Flower Brooch

Peach Moonstone Flower Brooch

This brooch I created for a client is in the shape of his wife’s business logo.

Peach Moonstone and Sterling Silver Flower Brooch

The peach moonstone reflects the colour of the logo, and provides a nice focal point to the design.

What an apt and thoughtful gift!

Sterling Silver Hand Drawn Bird Cufflinks

Hand Drawn Sterling Silver Bird Cufflinks

We have a little person, and we fell in love with this bird in a painting he made.

Hand Drawn Bird

For a surprise, I created a pair of cufflinks with the bird on them.

Everyone was very pleased! I feel lucky to be able to draw inspiration from such a masterpiece!Sterling Silver Hand Drawn Bird Cufflinks

Sterling Silver Septum Rings

Sterling Silver Septum Rings

My lovely client Kate and I collaborated on these septum rings.

Sterling Silver Septum Rings

I hadn’t made nose rings before, so these were a bit of a learning curve!

Kate posted this gorgeous photo of herself wearing one of her new septum rings on Instagram – love it! Thanks Kate!

Sterling Silver Knitting Markers

Sterling Silver Knitting Markers

My lovely sister had knitting markers on her Christmas list this year, so I thought I’d have a try at making some silver ones!

Sterling Silver Knitting Markers

I wanted to decorate them with tiny glass beads, but I also wanted to solder them closed so that they wouldn’t catch on the knitting.

Sterling Silver Knitting Markers

I often say you learn something new every day – and that was the day I learned glass (well, those beads, anyway!) will withstand 700⁰C plus temperatures. Seems logical, given that glass is sand, which presumably melts at a higher temperature than that – I was a bit worried to put my theory to the test though! All’s well that ends well – and happy Christmas to my sister!

Solid Silver Belt Buckle

Solid Silver Belt Buckle

When you have the husband who has everything, what do you make for his birthday? Well, you might remember I created this money clip last year.

Solid Silver Belt Buckle

This year, a belt buckle was requested. It was quite a challenge to build, as it is made from 2mm thick sterling silver which had to be shaped three-dimensionally.

Solid Silver Belt Buckle

I’m happy to say this buckle has been worn every single day since it was given – it’s not so shiny any more – in fact it’s looking quite tarnished and worn, just the way its owner likes it!

Sterling Silver and Serpentine Box

My gorgeous and wonderful Granny celebrated her one hundredth birthday in October.

The family gathered for a lovely morning tea in her beautiful garden.

As part of the celebrations, I wanted to create something unique and special for her, and I decided on a box.

Sterling Silver and Serpentine Box

It was probably the most challenging piece I’ve ever worked on!

Sterling Silver and Serpentine Box

I love you, dearest Greatie, you are the best, most inspirational grandmother I could ask for, and I feel very lucky to have you!

Twins Charm

Sterling Silver Twins Charm

After seeing the twins pendant I created for my gorgeous sister, Leslie got in touch with me to ask if I could create a small version for her. She wanted to surprise her twin sister for their 70th birthday!

Sterling Silver Twins Charm

I was very happy to help. It really is quite tiny!

Sterling Silver Twins Charm

Thanks, Leslie, and happy birthday to you and your twin!

Agate and Turquoise Sterling Silver Cloud Brooch

Agate and Turquoise Sterling Silver Cloud Brooch

What a wonderful thing it is to have kindred spirits in this world. One of them for me is a very dear bestie who I have been friends with since first grade.

Agate and Turquoise Sterling Silver Cloud Brooch

This year, I felt she needed to soar among the clouds – so when I came across this cleverly constructed agate and turquoise doublet cabochon, it was just the thing!

Agate and Turquoise Sterling Silver Cloud Brooch

I hadn’t made a brooch before, so this is a prototype really – I’m hopeful that it will withstand the test of time!

ADF Major's Cufflinks

Australian Army Major’s Cufflinks

ADF Major's Cufflinks

I had a request from a client to turn her husband’s Australian Army major’s crowns into a set of cuff links as a surprise for him.

ADF Major's Cufflinks

After a quick refresher to make sure that the melting point of the metal would not be too low to take the soldering, I removed the existing toggles, soldered cuff link backs on the crowns, et voila! (OK, I confess I had to change the direction of the links after a little misunderstanding, but hey – cuff links achieved!)

Sterling Silver Skull Money Clip

Sterling Silver Skull Money Clip

Sterling Silver Skull Money Clip

Not everyone’s cup of tea, I know, but waaaay back when I was doing a casting workshop as part of my silversmithing training, my husband requested a skull.

Sterling Silver Skull Money Clip

I carved this one out of wax, and after the casting process, it lived on my bench for a couple of years. Finally, I cleaned it up, and thought about what piece to create with it for the minimalist man who has everything!

Sterling Silver Skull Money Clip

A money clip was the answer. This is the only piece I have ever made my husband, and it was a long time coming – but I think he found it worth the wait. This is a one-of-a-kind piece – not only because I made it for a loved one, but because I don’t have the specialist equipment required to do casting. The perfect gift for a metal-loving guitar player!

Sterling Silver Bracelet and Three Ring Combination

Sterling Silver Attached Bracelet and Ring Set

I was asked to make this custom piece to suit someone with a dark vampish nature. My customer gave me the general picture of how he wanted the piece to look, and I added some finishing touches!

Sterling Silver Attached Bracelet and Ring Set

He very sensibly sent me a photocopy of the hand that it will be adorning, with measurements added. Perfect!

Sterling Silver Ring and Bracelet Combo

I hope this birthday present went down well. It was cool to create!

AMOK Atoms for Peace Sterling Silver Cufflinks

AMOK Atoms for Peace Sterling Silver Cufflinks

Any fans of Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, REM or Forro in the Dark may be familiar with Atoms for Peace, an alternative rock band with some very famous names in it!

AMOK Atoms for Peace Sterling Silver Cufflinks

These cufflinks were specially designed to incorporate features of the AMOK album cover, and created for a lovely customer to give to her husband, a diehard Radiohead fan.

AMOK

Just between you and me, these were the first cufflinks I’ve ever made – they were great fun! The cufflink backs are prefabricated sterling silver, but the rest is all my own sawing work.

AMOK Atoms for Peace Sterling Silver Cufflinks

I wonder what  Thom Yorke, Flea, Joey Waronker and Mauro Refosco would think of them? 🙂

Customised Sterling Silver Bookmark

Diala contacted me about making a bookmark for her friend’s birthday. She is in the UK, and needed it to arrive before the big day.

Sterling Silver Initial Bookmark for Diala

I was happy to get straight onto it. It went out in the mail today, hopefully in plenty of time!
